The Wimbledon 2026 men’s final between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev was the least-viewed final in the last three editions of the coveted tournament. The grass-court Grand Slam is known for its flair and unique, classic style.

Roger Federer has been the most successful player in the tournament’s history; however, in the late 2010s, his baton was passed to 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic, with seven titles in the tournament, has been one of the most decorated players. However, his crown was soon taken over by Carlos Alcaraz. The youngest career slam winner won the Wimbledon championship two consecutive times in 2023 and 2024.
In both finals, he defeated Novak to win the grass-court major. Given Djokovic’s stature and Alcaraz’s image as one of tennis‘ most promising players, the 2024 Wimbledon final was one of the tournament’s most-watched matches.
In 2025, Alcaraz reached the final of the oldest Grand Slam for the third consecutive time. However, at that time, he was up against the new ATP World No. 1, Jannik Sinner. The Italian tennis star made no mistakes and defeated the 23-year-old to win the Wimbledon Championships for the first time.

According to the BBC, unlike the 2024 final, which drew 8.3 million viewers, the summit clash of the 2025 championships was watched by 7.5 million. However, this year’s final, between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev, received the lowest rating.
The summit clash was watched by 5.9 million people, which is a modest figure. The game recorded a 17 per cent dip in total viewership. The 2026 final also did not feature the likes of Alcaraz and Djokovic, who have garnered the most viewership in 2024.
