Top five men's singles players with most wins in 2026 grass season

Taylor Fritz was the most successful ATP player in the 2026 grass season.
The 2026 grass season will be remembered as one with a distinct absence at its centre and a title race that delivered at both ends. Two-time Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz, one of the sport’s biggest stars, missed the entire swing owing to a right wrist injury.
Despite his absence, there was no shortage of high-voltage action and entertainment. History was made in the men’s singles section as Jannik Sinner retained his crown with a 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Alexander Zverev in the final.
This article covers wins accumulated across Wimbledon, the ATP 500 events at Halle and Queen’s Club, and the ATP 250 events at Stuttgart, Rosmalen, Eastbourne, and Mallorca.

5. Felix Auger-Aliassime: 7 wins

Felix Auger-Aliassime’s grass season did not produce a title, but still managed to enter the record books. He started the grass swing in Halle, where he made the quarterfinals before losing a tense contest to Tiafoe that went to a tiebreak. Three victories at the ATP 500 level before the championship proved to be a useful foundation.
At Wimbledon, the Canadian player advanced easily through the first week but lost to Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals, in what was the most thrilling match of the tournament, lasting 5 hours and 15 minutes and becoming the longest QF in the history of the Championships.
4. Frances Tiafoe: 7 wins

Frances Tiafoe entered the grass season on the back of a painful exit at Roland Garros, where he led 4-1 in the deciding set against Matteo Arnaldi only to lose 6-4.
Tiafoe used the first two weeks of the grass season to restore both his confidence and his ranking. He made the quarterfinals in Stuttgart, and then produced perhaps the best week of his career in Halle.
He beat three top-10 players in Germany, including saving three match points in a tense quarterfinal against Felix Auger-Aliassime, before dismissing Fritz 6-4, 6-4 in the final. It was his first ATP 500 title and his biggest win to date in terms of ranking.
3. Jannik Sinner: 7 wins

Jannik Sinner skipped the warm-up events entirely, arriving at Wimbledon fresh off his second-round exit at Roland Garros, having not played a competitive match in 32 days. The decision to bypass Halle, where he had lost to Alexander Bublik in the opening round last year, proved to be a masterstroke.
After being taken to five sets by Miomir Kecmanovic in the opening round, committing 52 unforced errors and briefly trailing by two sets to one, Sinner raised his level considerably, dropping just one set in his next six matches.
Nuno Borges, Jenson Brooksby, Shintaro Mochizuki, and Jan-Lennard Struff were all dispatched in straight sets. Sinner then beat Novak Djokovic in the semifinal 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, the second consecutive year he has done so at the same stage without dropping a set, and then came from a set down to see off Zverev in the final.
2. Alexander Zverev: 9 wins

Alexander Zverev entered the grass season as the reigning French Open champion but, by his own admission, was still searching for his ceiling on a surface that had historically enjoyed limited success. Before 2026, he had never progressed beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon in nine previous appearances.
At Halle, he reached the last four before Fritz ended his 10-match winning run with a seventh consecutive victory over the German. However, Wimbledon proved to be another success story for Zverev, as he ran through the draw without much trouble and reached a maiden final at the All England Club.
Zverev even pushed Sinner through three hours and 46 minutes of high-quality tennis, which included winning the opening set.
1. Taylor Fritz: 12 wins

Taylor Fritz entered the 2026 grass season carrying injury rust after missing most of the clay swing with a knee problem. Despite finding himself at the top of this list, he returns without any title.
He reached the final at both Stuttgart and Halle, becoming the first man to do so in the same grass season since Roger Federer in 2018.
Fritz will be genuinely disappointed with his returns at Wimbledon, as he seemed to be the favourite from his section to reach the final. However, an unexpected straight-sets defeat at the hands of Zverev in the quarter-finals shattered his dream of winning his first Grand Slam title.
