Mexico Open 2025: All you need to know about prize money and points on offer

Zverev is the 2021 Mexican Open champion and the top seed.
Alexander Zverev leads the field in Mexico as the top seed for the third consecutive event. Zverev made quarter-final exits in Argentina and Brazil, losing to Francisco Cerundolo and Francisco Comesana, both Argentinians in the South American events. Zverev will open against Matteo Arnaldi and could run into fifth-seed Ben Shelton in the semis.
Casper Ruud and Tommy Paul enter as the second and third seeds at the ATP 500 event. Paul and Ruud were the finalists in Acapulco in 2023 and 2024 and are seeded to meet in the last four. Frances Tiafoe (7) rounds off the list of seeded Americans in the singles draw and is headed for a quarter-final showdown with Ruud.

Norway’s Casper Ruud will play Arthur Rinderknech in the first round and holds a winning 2-0 record against the Frenchman. Tommy Paul awaits a qualifier to open. Paul has made a strong start to the 2025 season, making the last four in Adelaide and Dallas and a last-eight appearance at the Australian Open.
The man who defeated Paul in the semi-finals at Dallas and went on to clinch the title, Denis Shapovalov, is slated to play Britain’s Cameron Norrie in the first round. Norrie is one of the finalists in the mix, having reached the title round in 2022 before losing to Rafael Nadal.

Two-time defending champion Alex de Minaur has chosen to play in Dubai. This leaves Zverev as the only former champion in the fray. Top-ranked American Taylor Fritz will not be seen in Acapulco as the World No. 4 and 2020 Mexican Open finalist is nursing an abdominal injury.
Italian Lorenzo Musetti is another injury-related withdrawal from Acapulco. Musetti has been sidelined since the Argentina Open due to a muscle tear in the right leg. The presence of Holger Rune, who is returning to the tour in Acapulco after returning from injury in Rio, will provide some entertainment for Mexican fans.
