Mirra Andreeva and Zheng Qinwen meet in the China Open 2026 final on the back of contrasting campaigns. Andreeva reached her first Beijing final by beating Nikola Bartunkova 6-2, 6-2, an impressive result considering the Czech’s stellar form that saw her upset Muchova and Sabalenka earlier in the tournament.
Andreeva has also beaten Yue Yuan, Polina Kudermetova, Daria Snigur and Ekaterina Alexandrova this week, and has not dropped a set in her last three matches.
Zheng, meanwhile, continues to rise on her comeback. After an excellent US Open, she entered her home event as a wildcard and became the first Chinese player to reach the Beijing final, beating Elise Mertens 7-5, 6-2 in the semi-final.

She earlier also bested sixth seed Elina Svitolina in the quarter-finals, along with wins over Marie Bouzková and Anna Kalinskaya in the first half of the event. This is her best run in Beijing, with her only previous semi-final here coming in 2024.
The head-to-head favours Zheng, having beaten the Russian in the quarter-finals of the 2024 China Open. Andreeva, however, is the favourite on form and ranking. She is set to become World No. 3 on Monday and will be the fresher of the two.
The Chinese star cannot be ruled out though, as she has won 12 of her last 13 matches after dropping as low as No. 160 earlier this year, and will have the home crowd behind her. The 19-year-old Andreeva will need to keep her composure and unforced error count low to hold off an in-form rival.
