Mira Andreeva created history at the Dubai Tennis Championships 2025 as she defeated former finalist Elena Rybakina to book her maiden final place. The Russian player is now the youngest finalist in the history of the tournament and also the youngest player to qualify for a WTA-1000 final.

The 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva has had an incredible campaign, with her route to the final involving triumphs over WTA’s top stars. After crushing Iga Swiatek in the quarter-final encounter, the duel with the Kazakh was an intense one.

Andreeva is also the youngest to defeat three Grand Slam winners at a single event since Maria Sharapova in 2004.

A top-10 WTA rankings breakthrough, along with the record for the youngest WTA-1000 event champion, since the event’s induction beckons for the 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva. Irrespective of the result in the finale, the Russian has cemented herself in the history books already and is certainly a bright prospect for the future.

On the other hand, Clara Tauson will be eyeing her maiden WTA-1000 title. The Danish eliminated World Number One Aryna Sabalenka and outdid Karolina Muchova in a closely fought three-setter.

The WTA Dubai Tennis Championships 2025 final between Mirra Andreeva and Clara Tauson will take place on February 22 at 8:30 PM IST.
