Carlos Alcaraz displaces Zverev to become the new World Number #2.
Monte Carlo 2025 winner Carlos Alcaraz won his 18th career title to regain his second spot on the ATP rankings. Alexander Zverev’s continued decline after the Australian Open 2025 resulted in a demotion, and a strong outing in Munich is necessary for the German.
Alcaraz though, has hardly any points to defend until the French Open, and is likely to make rapid advancements and reduce the bridge to the number one spot. Despite the three-month suspension, Jannik Sinner will continue as the World Number One.
Taylor Fritz keeps his fourth position intact, after reaching the semi-finals of the Miami Open and will be eager to perform well during the clay season. Meanwhile, 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic holds his fifth spot despite the opening round defeat in Monte Carlo Masters.
The Serbian finished as a finalist in Miami, giving him a much-needed boost in points. Another player who enjoyed the hard-court tournaments is Jack Draper, who won Indian Wells and was a finalist in Dubai. As a result, he made his top-10 debut and sits currently at the sixth position.

Monte Carlo Masters quarterfinalists Alex de Minaur, and Andrey Rublev will need strong clay-court seasons to consolidate their rankings. Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev’s extended run near the top has ended, as the Russian, who’s winless in over a year—has dropped to World No. #9.
Casper Ruud also finds himself under pressure after a disappointing Monte Carlo campaign pushed him down to No. #10. With his Barcelona title defense looming, the Norwegian must deliver to remain in the ATP top 10.
