Top five players to win most one-sided Grand Slam sets in 2025

Jannik Sinner leads 2025 Grand Slams with 21 one-sided sets, the most since Novak Djokovic in 2012.

The four Grand Slams of this year have ended with Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz winning two each. The two faced each other in three Grand Slam finals and pushed each other to limits. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic also reached the semi-finals of all four Grand Slams, failing to win any.

On the other side, four different champions were crowned. at all the Grand Slams on the WTA tour. However, Aryna Sabalenka played three Grand Slam finals, winning only the US Open.

While a few stars won the major titles while proving their prowess, some solidified their names as the upcoming icons in the game. In this article, we will take a look at the top five players to win the most one-sided Grand Slam sets in 2025.

5. Tommy Paul

Interestingly, American tennis star Tommy Paul has won ten one-sided sets in the Grand Slam men’s singles event this year. Paul had a tough year in terms of Grand Slams. He reached the quarter-finals at the Australian Open and Roland Garros.

However, he was later eliminated in the second and third rounds of the Wimbledon Championships and the US Open, respectively. However, he managed to record 6-0, 6-1 set wins over Elmer Moller, Sebastian Ofner, Kei Nishikori, and Alejandro Davidovich.

4. Elena Rybakina

Kazakh tennis star Elena Rybakina has struggled to regain her best form lately; however, she has shown resilience with her performance on the tour. Rybakina has won one title this season and has maintained a win/loss record of 44/17 while capturing 10 one-sided sets in Slams.

The 26-year-old has won one-sided sets over former US Open champions Emma Raducanu, Maria Sakkari, Iga Swiatek, and Madison Keys.

3. Iga Swiatek

Iga Swiatek has won 17 one-sided sets in Grand Slam competitions this year. She famously recorded a one-sided 6-0, 6-0 victory over the United States’ Amanda Anisimova in the Wimbledon Championships final earlier this year.

However, she also displayed her attacking prowess against the likes of Jasmine Paolini, Elina Svitolina, Emma Raducanu, and Karolína Muchová. However, the SW19 champion was eliminated in the semi-finals of the US Open by revenge-seeking Amanda Anisimova.

2. Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz has won 18 one-sided sets in 2025. The six-time Grand Slam champion has managed to record 6-0 and 6-1 triumphs over the likes of top-ranked players such as Jannik Sinner, Tommy Paul and Lorenzo Musetti.

Alcaraz has faced Jannik Sinner five times on the tour this season, winning five times, including two one-sided sets. The Spaniard also leads the Italian tennis star 10-5 in their head-to-head tally.

1. Jannik Sinner

Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner has won 21 one-sided sets on the ATP tour this season until the 2025 US Open. The record includes his 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 win against Alexander Bublik in the US Open fourth round.

The former world No. 1 has won two Grand Slams this season and has maintained a win/loss record of 37/5. Sinner has also qualified for the upcoming ATP finals with more than 11,000 points.

The Italian tennis star has become the first player on the tour since Novak Djokovic in 2012 to win more than 20 one-sided sets in Slams in a single season.
