What is the Next Gen ATP Finals 2024 Tournament: All you need to know
ATP has shaken things up by lowering the age limit to 20 and under for this edition.
The Next Gen ATP Finals 2024 is rolling into Jeddah on December 18 with eight rising stars trying to prove they’re the next big thing in tennis.
This year’s tournament is different with ATP shaking things up by lowering the age limit to 20 and under, giving even younger players a shot at glory which wasn’t the case since the tournament debuted in 2017. Till 2023, It used to be for the players 21 and under.
Coming back to this year’s tournament, shake-up in age limit meant that we won’t see the defending champion Hamad Medjedovic in fray, who has aged out that means we’re guaranteed a brand new winner in the version headlined by Arthur Fils, Alex Michelsen, and Jakub Mensik, who represents the next wave of tennis excellence.
As far as previous winners are concerned, it tells a compelling story. Jannik Sinner, now world number one, and Carlos Alcaraz emerged from these very courts. Others like Brandon Nakashima remind us that potential doesn’t always guarantee breakthrough.
That being said, here is all the information you need to know about the tournament:
