Formula 1: Who does Novak Djokovic support in F1 Championships?

Novak Djokovic presented the trophy to Oscar Piastri, George Russell and Lando Norris at podium in Qatar.

Novak Djokovic has revealed the driver he supports in the F1 Championships. The Serbian tennis star is rooting for Lando Norris to win the championship, as the result will be unfurled during the final race, scheduled on December 7 in Abu Dhabi.

Initially, the 24-time Grand Slam champion was asked to name the driver he is supporting for the title, to which he replied, “Lando Norris, he is my guy.” The British driver, who has not won an F1 championship so far, is arching close to winning a memorable accolade in Abu Dhabi.

Addressing Norris’ chances of winning the championship, Djokovic was reminded of his first Grand Slam triumph in 2008, when he won the Australian Open. He stated that winning the maiden title is a huge relief and wished Norris success in his pursuit of triumph.

Djokovic said (via ln4norris on X), “I can definitely remember those days [winning first grand slam]. and of course, it’s a huge relief when you do it and i really wish him, he’s deserved it.

“He has had an incredible couple of seasons, particularly this season and for the entire McLaren team. of course, when it goes down to a wire to the last couple of races the pressure mounts, not just with a driver but the entire team.”

After the Qatar Grand Prix concluded on November 30, the Serbian tennis star also presented the trophy to Oscar Piastri, George Russell and Lando Norris at the podium.

For the first time in 15 years, the paddock has witnessed a brawl between three stars for the ultimate title. Norris could have become the 2025 Formula 1 champion in Qatar with Djokovic in the stands; however, it wasn’t his day, as he finished fourth. Either way, Lando Norris is currently in the pole position for winning the 2025 F1 Championship.

The Briton is leading the points table with 408 points, while Max Verstappen is second with 396 points. Norris is only required to secure a top-three finish to win the championship; however, if he fails to do so, his teammate, Oscar Piastri, could also have a chance at winning the accolade.
