Novak Djokovic has two singles Olympic medals: bronze in Beijing and gold in Paris.
Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic recently talked about winning gold in the men’s singles event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The tennis events of the Paris 2024 took place at Stade Roland Garros, where Djokovic had withdrawn from the quarterfinals during the French Open earlier this year. Additionally, he also had to undergo a surgical procedure for the torn meniscus in his right knee.
Nevertheless, he reached the final of the Wimbledon Championships in July after his return to tennis. At the Paris Olympics, the Serb put on a brilliant display of his experience and on-court prowess to beat the likes of Rafael Nadal, Lorenzo Musetti, and Carlos Alcaraz to win the men’s singles gold.
During a recent event organized by ASICS, the Serbian tennis star took the mic and talked about representing his country at the sporting megafest. He also recalled the 2012 London Olympics, where he was flag bearer for Serbia. Djokovic stated that winning the gold medal for Serbia would be a highlight of his career.

He said, “I’ve had the honor and privilege to carry the flag at the opening ceremony for Serbia in 2012 in London and that was the best feeling I’ve experienced as an athlete overall until I won gold in Paris… Definitely the highlight of my career.”
Djokovic also added, “It was one of the best levels of tennis I’ve produced in years.”. Novak Djokovic has failed to win a single title this year except for the gold medal. In addition to that, he has also played only one final throughout the season, at the Wimbledon Championships.
Currently second in the rankings, the Serb will commence his US Open campaign against Moldova’s Radu Albot on August 26. Djokovic will headline the night session at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Defending champion Novak Djokovic will enter the US Open without any such training, as he missed the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Masters.
Additionally, the 24-year-old was scheduled to train with Denmark’s Holger Rune for a full session earlier today. However, he trained for an hour with Rune at the Arthur Ashe Stadium but didn’t show up later. It was later revealed that the Serb had missed the other part of the training because he had to receive treatment for a fitness issue.
