Novak Djokovic is also eyeing Federerâs record eight titles at Wimbledon.
At the age of 38, Serbian legend Novak Djokovic continues to go strong. He overcame a slow start and repeated shifts in momentum, to go past Italian Flavio Cobolli 6-7(6), 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon 2025.
The sixth seed especially looked a tad vulnerable while serving but pounced on the slightest lapses by his inexperienced opponent to eventually secure a hard-fought victory. Notably, he had a much better percentage on second serve points won and committed half the number of unforced errors, which the 22nd seed did.
It is worth noting that Djokovic has dropped just three sets in his campaign till now (one each against Alexandre Muller in the first round and Alex de Minaur in the fourth round), bettered only by top seed Jannik Sinner, who is co-incidentally his opponent for the semi-final.
He is just two matches away from equalizing with Swiss maestro Roger Federer, who has clinched the most number of menâs singles titles (8) at the All England Tennis Club.

Novak Djokovic overtakes Roger Federer for most semi-final appearances at Wimbledon
It was Roger Federer who laid the benchmark for players around the world, with his exploits. But records, as they say, are meant to be broken and Djokovic has managed to surpass him on various parameters. The Serb has managed to reach yet another milestone, having entered the Wimbledon last-four for the 14th time.
He thus goes past Federer, who qualified for the semi-finals at the grass court major in 13 editions. The only other male player in the open era to have semi-final appearances in double digits is Jimmy Connors, with 11 instances.
Djokovicâs former coach Boris Becker has achieved the feat nine times, while three other greatsâRafael Nadal, John McEnroe and Pete Sampras have done so on eight occasions.
The Serbian, a former World Number #1, who clinched his 100th ATP Tour title at Geneva earlier this year, has a long road. He first has to deal with an in-form, albeit injured Sinner. If he manages to do that, he is likely to run into second seed Carlos Alcaraz in the summit clash.
