Richard Gasquet made his debut in ATP Paris Masters in 2003.

The wildcard entries for ATP Paris Masters 2024 have been announced as four players have received them. Gael Monfils, Richard Gasquet, Adrian Mannarino and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard are the players who have been offered the wildcards. Perricard is the only player in the wildcard list who will be making his main draw debut in Paris.

Monfils and Gasquet had their main draw debut almost two decades ago. This time the veterans will be hoping to record wins in front of the home crowd as they have been doing it in the past. Monfils will be making his 12th appearance in the event and had reached successive finals in 2009 and 2010.

The 38-year-old made his debut in Paris in 2005 when the event was played on the carpet surface. He has enjoyed iconic moments in the event including beating Roger Federer in the semi-finals of the 2010 edition. But his athletic prowess was on full display during his win over Marin Cilic in the quarter finals of 2009.

Joining him will be Gasquet who made his first appearance in the event in 2003 when Perricard was three months old. Gasquet will be playing in the event for the 17th and final time as he will be retiring after the French Open next season. The former world No #7 had reached the semi-finals in 2007.

Apart from Gasquet and Monfils, Mannarino will also be competing in the main draw. He will be recording his 14th year in attendance at Paris. Although he made his debut in 2008, Mannarino’s best performance came in 2020 when he reached the fourth round while losing to Alexander Zverev.

While the three wildcard entries have made more than 10 appearances in Paris, Perricard will be featuring in the main draw for the first time. The 21-year-old won his career first title this season and will be competing in the main draw of an ATP Masters 1000 event for the third time. He is yet to record a win in the Masters event and Paris could be the perfect venue as the home crowd will be cheering him on.
