Alexander Zverev secured his seventh ATP Masters 1000 title in Paris.
Alexander Zverev will be taking over a spot in the ATP tour rankings after putting up a spectacular performance in Paris Masters 2024. He will be now equalling his career best ranking of World No #2 when the updated rankings are released on November 4. Zverev will be replacing Carlos Alcaraz in the second spot on the ATP tour.
The German had assured himself the second spot in the rankings after defeating Holger Rune in the semi-finals in Paris. Zverev’s career best ranking was when he was World No #2 in June 2022. The rankings will not only help him get closer to Jannik Sinner but also will ensure that he is the second seed during the ATP Finals 2024.
Zverev has collected 7,715 points so far this season including 1000 points after his win in Paris Masters 2024. He collected his seventh Masters 1000 title and his second of the season. Zverev had earlier won the Rome Masters in May after defeating Nicolas Jarry in the final. He also became the only player in the 2024 season to win Masters 1000 titles on clay and hardcourts.

After defeating Ugo Humbert in the final in Paris Masters, Zverev claimed his 66th win of the season. He was on level with Sinner after reaching the final for his 65th season win and overtook the Italian after lifting the trophy. The World No #3 has played 86 matches this year and could touch the 90 match mark during the ATP Finals 2024.
Zverev’s previous season best wins had come in 2017 where he won 60 matches including four titles. This season the 27-year-old has been performing well consistently on the tour on all surfaces. He also reached the fourth round of all nine Masters 1000 events this year to become the fourth player in the ATP tour to achieve the feat.
Zverev will next play in ATP Finals 2024 and will be riding high with confidence after his win in Paris. He will be aiming to win his third title of the season and his third season ending trophy. Zverev had last captured the ultimate title in 2021 after beating Daniil Medvedev in the final. This time too he is in form and will be now spending the next few days recovering to get in shape for a tough battle in Turin.
