Paula Badosa ditches Stefanos Tsitsipas, forms new pair with Jack Draper for US Open mixed doubles

After their opening-round exit at Wimbledon, Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas unfollowed each other on Instagram.

The final mixed doubles entry list for the 2025 US Open features several intriguing updates, including the pairing of Jack Draper and Paula Badosa. Originally, Draper was slated to partner with Qinwen Zheng and Badosa with her then-partner Stefanos Tsitsipas.

However, recent developments including a surgery forced the Chinese to be ruled out of the entire North American swing and the US Open. Jack Draper himself is nursing an arm injury, making himself unavailable for both the ATP Masters events.

Stefanos Tsistipas has had a tough last two years, mainly due to poor form and turmoil within his own team. Frequent changes have created a toxic team environment for the Greek, with the latest sacking of Goran Ivanisevic coming as no surprise.

The Croatian made some outrageous claims about Tsitsipas in public, which did not sit well with the 26-year-old.

Ever since he lost the first round of SW19, speculations have arisen regarding his rumoured split with girlfriend Badosa, who herself has been out of action now for a few weeks. Moreover, they have unfollowed each other on social media, fuelling these rumours.

Paula Badosa has now swapped partners and will team up with World No. 5 Jack Draper for the 2025 US Open mixed doubles, with Tsitsipas expected to miss the event.

Another notable absence is the much-anticipated duo of Naomi Osaka and Nick Kyrgios, with Kyrgios’s ongoing injury struggles casting doubt on his participation. Aryna Sabalenka also remains without a partner following Grigor Dimitrov’s withdrawal due to the pectoral injury that ended his Wimbledon campaign.

Some of the confirmed formidable pairs include Carlos Alcaraz-Emma Raducanu, Jannik Sinner-Emma Navarro, Casper Ruud-Iga Swiatek, Novak Djokovic-Olga Danilovic, Taylor Fritz-Elena Rybakina and Rielly Opelka-Venus Williams.
