Karolina Muchova and Jakub Mensik captured the US Open 2026 mixed doubles title, defeating Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli 6-3, 1-6, 10-6 in the final at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The Czech pair made a fast start, with Mensikâs powerful serve helping them take the opening set in under 30 minutes.
Bencic and Cobolli fought back to level the match, but Muchova and Mensik dominated the deciding 10-point match tiebreak to seal their first-ever Grand Slam title.
The victory capped an impressive run for the pair, who had earlier saved two match points against Mirra Andreeva and Andrey Rublev in the semi-finals.
Mensikâs serving and net play proved crucial in the final, while Muchova produced a strong serving display when it mattered most. Mensik eventually sealed the championship with an ace.
The 2026 mixed doubles event was played under the revamped 16-team format for the second consecutive year, designed to bring leading singles stars into the spotlight and attract larger crowds before the singles main draw.
The prolific duo of Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka lost in the opening round, while Carlos Alcaraz and Serena Williams were beaten in the quarter-finals. Interestingly, all the top-ranked doubles specialists failed to reach the final four.
