WTA 2025 season

Aryna Sabalenka recorded the biggest prize pool won by a woman in a single season

The WTA 2025 season delivered one of the most lucrative seasons in women’s tennis history, headlined by Aryna Sabalenka shattering the all-time single-season earnings record.

From Grand Slam breakthroughs to historic paydays at the year-end Finals, the sport’s biggest names capitalised on deep runs and marquee titles to amass remarkable prize money totals.

Across the board, stars like Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff and Amanda Anisimova transformed standout performances into multimillion-dollar hauls, underscoring 2025 as a landmark financial moment for women’s tennis.

It also reflects the long-term impact of Billie Jean King’s push for equal prize money, whose legacy continues to shape the sport’s economic landscape.

Top five women with most prize money:

5. Amanda Anisimova – $7,250,577

Amanda Anisimova collected 7,260,577 dollars during her breakout 2025 season, highlighted by back-to-back runner-up finishes at Wimbledon and the US Open, each delivering multimillion-dollar paydays.

She also captured two WTA 1000 titles in Doha and Beijing, adding another $1.7 million-plus from those victories. A semifinal run at the WTA Finals capped off a remarkable comeback year, making her the fifth-highest earner on the tour, and securing her position as the World No. 4 on the WTA rankings chart.

4. Coco Gauff – $7,780,905

Coco Gauff earned 7,969,845 dollars in 2025, driven by her maiden Roland Garros title, which alone added 2,901,024 dollars to her season total.

She built on that momentum with runner-up finishes in Rome and Madrid, and later captured the Wuhan WTA 1000 crown to further boost her earnings.

Quarter-final runs at the Australian Open and Cincinnati rounded out a season that was inconsistent at times but highly profitable for the world No 3.

Elena Rybakina ended the year by scripting history at the Riyadh Finals, becoming the player with the largest pay cheque in tennis history, taking home $5.235M.

Her unbeaten run in the competition, beating the likes of Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula in dominant fashion, reasserted her supremacy when in full flow.

The Kazakh secured her qualification, on the back of her Ningbo Open title and semi-final finish in Tokyo. Her otherwise disappointing season was underlined by early exits at Grand Slams, falling even outside the top-10 rankings. However, her fabulous end to the 2025 calendar year saw her finish inside the top-5 WTA rankings.

2. Iga Swiatek – $9,912,532

Iga Swiatek ended 2025 as the second-highest earner on the WTA Tour with 9,912,532 dollars, powered by her landmark victory at Wimbledon, which brought in just over $3 million.

That breakthrough on grass marked one of the signature moments of the season, ending her title draught which extended for more than 24 months. She also reached the final four at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Qatar, Indian Wells and Madrid.

1. Aryna Sabalenka – $15,008,519

Aryna Sabalenka’s 2025 campaign was defined by surges of dominant ball-striking mixed with pockets of inconsistency that kept her just short of a breakthrough year. She remained one of the tour’s most explosive players, and remained all year as the World No. 1.

Her year was led by her runner-up finish at the Australian Open, where she pocketed nearly 2.5 million dollars and followed that up with titles in Miami and Cincinnati, each delivering over $900k.
