Preview: Novak Djokovic vs Stefanos Tsitsipas prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head | Wimbledon 2026

Djokovic and Tsitsipas to square off for the first time since 2023.
Novak Djokovic ensured there would be no major upset in the opening week after Jannik Sinner flirted with danger in his opening-round match. The Serb pulled through against an inspired Wu Yibing 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.
The 39-year-old Djokovic is now 21-0 in Wimbledon first rounds after scripting a comeback against Yibing, fending off the Chinese player in a finely poised third set.
Djokovic fended off six break points in the fourth set before finally prevailing after three hours and 11 minutes on court. It was the first meeting between the pair.
Stefanos Tsitsipas is coming off a bad spell, having made the quarter-finals last at Doha in February, where the Greek lost to Andrey Rublev in straight sets as his string of poor results continued. He has since reached the round of 16 just once in nine competitions, majority of which saw him exiting in the opening round.
Tsitsipas posted a convincing straight-set win over French qualifier Hugo Gaston, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2, in just 92 minutes.
The former World No. 3 now faces Djokovic, trailing the Serb with a 12-2 win-loss record. Tsitsipas has not defeated the Serbian since their 2019 quarterfinal at the ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai.

Match prediction
No player has more than Djokovicâs opening round Grand Slam wins (81) in the Open Era. It stayed that way despite being tested by his much younger opponent, 26-year-old Wu Yibing.
The Serb will be a favourite ahead of his second-round meeting against Tsitsipas, despite the Greek dispatching Hugo Gaston comfortably in straight sets.
Even at 39, Djokovic, with seven SW19 titles under his belt, can still be a handful in a five-set format. An unseeded Stefanos Tsitsipas drawing Novak Djokovic would work in the 24-time Grand Slam championâs favour.
Tsitsipas, as a World No. 87, has a tough draw in the grass-court major, beginning with the face-off against the Serbian legend.
Result: Novak Djokovic to win in straight sets.
