There is no previous history between these two, as this will be the first meeting between Jodar and Fokina. Jodar, the 12th seed, has made a habit of winning from behind this week. He won his first four matches in Shanghai after dropping the opening set, the latest being a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 quarter-final win over Casper Ruud.
