Coco Gauff won the all-American final at Wuhan Open 2025.
Coco Gauff clinched the Wuhan Open 2025 title with a straight-sets 6-4, 7-5 victory over Jessica Pegula, marking her third WTA 1000 triumph.
The 21-year-old American sensation showcased remarkable composure, erasing deficits in the second set to secure the win in a 1-hour-42-minute clash and a hefty amount of prize money.
This victory made her the first player in the Open Era to win her first nine hard-court finals, highlighting her growing dominance at such a young age. Gauff’s path to the title was smooth, dropping only 16 games, while Pegula battled through, and even ended Aryna Sabalenka‘s unbeaten streak in Wuhan.
In the championship, Gauff overcame early double faults and momentum swings, breaking Pegula at crucial moments to seal the trophy. Gauff even fought back from 2-5 in the second set, to seal the deal in straight sets.
