Madrid Open 2025: All you need to know about prize money & points on offer

Iga Swiatek and Andrey Rublev are the reigning champions.
The Madrid Open 2025 is an ATP Masters 1000 and WTA-1000 clay-court event which will run from 23 April to 4 May at the iconic Caja Mágica in Madrid, Spain. Madrid will be the second ATP-1000 event after Monte Carlo, where Carlos Alcaraz won the previous title. However, Holger Rune stunned the local favourite at the recently concluded Barcelona Open.
For the WTA calendar, Madrid will be the first Clay 1000 event of 2025. With hot favourite Iga Świątek going down in Stuttgart to familiar rival Jelena Ostapenko, the Pole now must defend 1000 points, having triumphed last year.
But Aryna Sabalenka, Paolini, Gauff, Andreeva, and a returning Elena Rybakina are certain to make this task challenging. Additionally, the World No. 2 could potentially meet Ostapenko once again in the round of 16, with the Latvian holding a 6-0 lead over the Pole.
In the ATP field, three-time Madrid winner Novak Djokovic returns after an early exit at Monte Carlo. Spotlight will also be on defending champion Andrey Rublev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jack Draper, two-time champion Alexander Zverev, Casper Ruud, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur.
The total prize pool for the Madrid Open 2025 is €8,055,385. Notably, the tournament now follows a uniform pay structure for both men and women, ensuring equal earnings across the board. With that in mind, here’s a breakdown of how the prize money is distributed across singles and doubles events.
