WTA Stuttgart Open 2025: All you need to know about prize money & points on offer

Rybakina will not be defending her Stuttgart Open title.
The WTA 500 Stuttgart Open 2025 will get underway without the defending champion, Elena Rybakina. The 2024 titlist made the trip to Brisbane, Australia, to represent Kazakhstan at the ongoing Billie Jean King Cup. The World No. 10 helped her team beat the hosts 2-1 and reach the BJK Cup final in December.
Elena Rybakina criticized the programme which forced her to make a tough choice between representing her country and defending her title. Moreover, Rybakina is set to lose 500 points, forcing a top-10 exit for the first time since January 30
Qinwen Zheng and Ons Jabeur have also been sidelined from the tournament. Zheng cited the need for some time off to recover from a busy North American swing while Jabeur is nursing a leg injury. Paula Badosa and Barbora Krejcikova are among the high-profile withdrawals, with both women sidelined by chronic back pain.
Aryna Sabalenka, two-time winner Iga Swiatek, and Coco Gauff headline the 2025 edition as the top three seeds. Jessica Pegula, winner of the recently concluded Charleston Open, is seeded fourth. Following Pegula’s title run in Charleston, she replaced fellow American Coco Gauff as the World No. 3.
At the start of the year, Madison Keys kicked off an unexpected string of results over the next few months when she prevented Sabalenka from winning her third consecutive Australian Open title. Keys, the current World No. 5, continues to give Stuttgart a wide berth, having last turned up to play in 2018.
The Russian teen, Mirra Andreeva has been this year’s surprise package after winning back-to-back WTA 1000 titles at Dubai and Indian Wells. Amanda Anisimova won her maiden WTA 1000 title in Qatar to deny Iga Swiatek a fourth-straight title in Doha.
Clara Tauson, the losing finalist at the Dubai Championship, is also on the entry list. Jasmine Paolini, Emma Navarro, and Diana Shainder, too, appear in the entry list and are scheduled to play in Stuttgart. Tauson, Andreeva, and Shnaider will debut in the 2025 edition.
