Rafael Nadal, wife Mery Perello welcome their second baby boy Miquel: Reports

Rafael Nadal and Mery Perello had welcomed their first child in 2022.
Rafael Nadal and his wife, Mery Perello, have welcomed their second child, a baby boy, on August 7, according to reports in Spain. The couple left the hospital three days later, on Saturday.
The couple have named their second child Miquel, in honor of Mery’s late father, who passed away in 2023, the reports add.
Nadal and Perello, who began dating when she was 17 and he was 19, married on October 19, 2019. They welcomed their first child on October 8, 2022, in Mallorca.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion retired from professional tennis in November 2024 after playing his final singles match against Botic Van de Zandschulp in Spain’s Davis Cup tie against the Netherlands.
At the emotional and star-studded farewell ceremony at Roland Garros 2025, Nadal paid tribute to his wife in an emotional speech. “You are my best life partner. We couldn’t have imagined in 2005 that we’d be here 20 years later as a family.
“You have always been there for me, supporting me from a position that wasn’t always easy. I hope to make you as happy as you have made me,” he said.
Since stepping away from competition, Nadal has turned his focus to other ventures, especially the Rafa Nadal Academy, which he calls one of the pillars of his legacy.

“It is very important to have objectives in life so as not to get bored. For me, the big satisfaction is being able to retire in peace. I like being active and doing things, now is the time to organize my next chapter. I’ve adapted well,” he said earlier this year.
The Spanish legend also revealed that he has not returned to tennis since retiring, infact he didnt even pick a racquet. “I’m playing a bit of football, but I haven’t picked up a racket since!” Nadal said in February 2025.
