Rafael Nadal’s uncle used to play football for Barcelona.

Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr. recently took to social media and uploaded a picture with 22-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal.

Last Sunday, Rafael Nadal attended Real Madrid’s clash against their arch-rivals Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in the Spanish capital. Alongside Nadal, the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Naomi Osaka were also present at the venue.

The Los Blancos won the El Clasico 3-2 with the help of a stoppage-time goal from Englishman Jude Bellingham, who joined the La Liga giants from Borussia Dortmund last summer. Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal were also spotted celebrating Jude Bellingham’s winner from the stands.

After the game, Real Madrid stars uploaded pictures with the tennis players. Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka took to social media and shared a picture with Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Club president Florentino Perez also presented a Real Madrid jersey to World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and NFL legend Tom Brady.

Nevertheless, Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr. has also uploaded a picture on X (formerly Twitter) with 14-time Roland Garros champion Rafael Nadal. In the picture, Vinicius can be seen standing side by side with Nadal, and the two are holding the Brazilian attacker’s jersey. Vinicius captioned the picture:

“LEGEND!!!!!” He also added a few emojis and tagged the 37-year-old.

Nadal has always been a fan of Real Madrid, although his uncle Miguel Ángel used to play football for their arch-rivals, Barcelona. He has written in his autobiography, ‘My Story’:

“If you ask me if I would like it, of course I would, why not? But there is more to it… I think it will not be. We are very good as we are. We have a great president right now [Florentino Perez], and I don’t think Real Madrid need me, but we never know what can happen in the future. It is not something I can raise today.”
