Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden got knocked out in the first round of the 2024 Madrid Open.

The Spanish-Argentine pair of Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos are set to become the top-ranked pair in the ATP men’s doubles rankings, overtaking the Indo-Aussie duo of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden.

Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden reached the top spot in men’s doubles rankings after they defeated the Italian pair of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in the final of the Australian Open 2024.

Bopanna and Ebden also won the Miami Open 2024 after they recorded a stellar victory over second-seed pair Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek. However, since then, the duo have given a couple of underwhelming performances. They were eliminated in the first round of the Monte Carlo Masters as well as the Madrid Open.
