ATP Paris Masters 2025

Defending champion Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner are in the same half of the draw.

Alexander Zverev will have the opportunity to defend his title at the ATP Paris Masters 2025 at a brand new venue as the ATP 1000 event has moved from Bercy-Paris to the Paris La Defense Arena in 2025. The arena can host 23,000 fans during the week-long event, up from 17,000 at the old venue.

Zverev will be joined by a host of top stars, including Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. Turin hopefuls Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton will also make a beeline for Paris following a lacklustre campaign at Basel. Both Fritz and Shelton were knocked out in the round of 16 at the ATP 500 event.

Alex de Minaur and Lorenzo Musetti join the two Americans as the tussle for the remaining four qualification spots for the 2025 ATP Finals enters its home stretch. The results at the Paris Masters will have a big hand to play in determining the final eight for Turin.

Sinner did not make an appearance at the ATP 1000 event last season, while Alcaraz lost in the third round to Frenchman Ugo Humbert in three sets. The Spaniard was a quarter-finalist in 2022, while Sinner’s best result was a third-round appearance in 2023.

It’s no surprise that seven-time champion Novak Djokovic has decided to skip the Paris Masters 2025. The Serb lost in the semi-finals to Valentin Vacherot in the Shanghai Masters semi-finals earlier this month, closely followed by retirement from the Six Kings Slam exhibition match in Riyadh against Taylor Fritz.

With Grigor Dimitrov returning to competitive tennis in Paris, there are more than a few intriguing matches in store in the men’s singles draw. The Bulgarian will be playing his first tournament since Wimbledon and will take on Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first round.

Other opening round clashes worthy of attention would be the Joao Fonseca – Denis Shapovalov rematch from Basel, followed by the face-off between Jiri Lehecka and Valentin Vacherot. The round one match between 2024 finalist Ugo Humbert and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is yet another to watch out for.

Alcaraz, who has been away from the action since his title run in Tokyo last month, will open against either Cameron Norrie or Sebastian Baez. Sinner will kick off his campaign against Alex Michelsen or Zizou Bergs.

The prize money on offer in Paris has been increased from €5.9 million to €6.1 million, on par with the Monte-Carlo Masters. The men’s singles champion will stand to gain €946,610 for their efforts at the week-long event.
