Tennis at Asian Games 2026: Full schedule, fixtures, results, live streaming details
India had secured two medals in tennis at the 2022 Asian Games
Tennis returns to the Asian Games 2026 spotlight when the main draw gets underway on September 27 at the Nagoya City Higashiyama Park Tennis Center, running through to medal matches on October 3. The men’s field does not feature a single top-100 player.
Hong Kong’s Coleman Wong is the top seed, alongside Kazakhstan’s Alexander Shevchenko and China’s Wu Yibing rounding out the top three.
South Korea’s Soonwoo Kwon, who played a pivotal role in his nation’s win over India in the Davis Cup 2026 qualifiers, will also be in action, with the likes of Timofei Skatov, Chun-Hsin Tseng, and Japan’s Hayato Matsuoka adding further depth.
On the women’s side, the marquee storyline belongs to Alexandra Eala, the Philippines’ breakout star and current World No. 18, who has recently beaten several top-10 players, including Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek.
Eala made the brave call of skipping the mandatory WTA Masters to instead represent her nation and is the outright favourite for clinching the gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games.
For India, the singles hopes rest chiefly on Sumit Nagal, seeded No. 7 in the men’s draw, and Dhakshineswar Suresh, who is competing in both singles and doubles.
Nagal has been the nation’s top-ranked singles player for some time now, but his recent outing at the Davis Cup offers little promise, as the former World No. 68 lost both his matches.

It’s in doubles, therefore, where India may have its strongest medal chances. Yuki Bhambri and Dhakshineswar Suresh enter as the No. 5 seeds in the men’s doubles draw, a seeding that reflects real pedigree and should see them avoid the toughest opposition in the opening rounds.
Alongside them are N Sriram Balaji and Anirudh Chandrasekar, who are seeded No. 1 overall in the men’s doubles event.
With mixed doubles also on the card featuring Bhambri paired alongside Rutuja Bhosale as No. 2 seeds, and Ankita Raina and Bhosale both involved across the women’s and mixed doubles events, India’s tennis contingent looks well-placed across multiple disciplines.
