WTA Ningbo Open 2025: Updated schedule, fixtures, results, live streaming details

The defending champion Daria Kasatkina will not be playing at Ningbo Open 2025.
In the absence of big stars and the Ningbo Open defending champion Daria Kasatkina, the field will be led by Mirra Andreeva and Jasmine Paolini. Andreeva and Paolini bear the mantle of the top two seeds at the WTA 500 event.
The event saw Tunisian Ons Jabeur take the win in its inaugural edition in 2023. The 2025 edition will be its third and has an impressive roster despite its scheduling towards the end of the WTA season.
With a majority of the top ten taking a breather after the Wuhan Open, this leaves the top three seeds, Andreeva, Paolini, and Elena Rybakina, to fight it out for the final two spots for this year’s WTA Finals in Riyadh.
Mirra Andreeva, Jasmine Paolini, and Elena Rybakina will battle it out where a qualification for Riyadh is the biggest prize.
Andreeva, having won the WTA 1000 titles at Dubai and Indian Wells earlier this year, gave herself a head start on the path to the WTA Finals.
The Russian World No. 5 has had a lukewarm season since then, with a string of quarter-final appearances and a lack of titles delaying her qualification for Riyadh.

Paolini, who won the Italian Open this year, made the semi-finals at Miami and Stuttgart en route to her title run in Rome. The Italian made another semi-final appearance in Bad Homburg and followed it up by reaching the finals in Cincinnati.
With an impressive four doubles titles in 2025, Paolini and her doubles partner, Sara Errani, have already qualified for the doubles draw. The World No. 8 is just outside the threshold for qualification for the year-ending event at No. 9. Paolini did herself a favour by making the semi-finals in Wuhan, where she lost to Coco Gauff.
Elena Rybakina precedes Paolini on the list as the race to Riyadh remains tantalisingly poised. The Kazkah’s sole title came at Strasbourg in May, a result that contradicts her match-winning potential.
Rybakina made the last four back-to-back during the North American hard-court swing, beginning with Washington and extending to Montreal and Cincinnati to remain in contention.
It was Rybakina’s straight-set loss in the quarter-finals at Wuhan to Aryna Sabalenka that let Jessica Pegula secure her passage to Riyadh. Pegula, the finalist in Wuhan, clinched her place in the line-up after she advanced to the last four at the WTA 1000 event.
Andreeva, the top seed, was a finalist in 2024. Diana Shnaider, the 2023 finalist, returns to Ningbo as the No. 7 seed. Shnaider won the title in Monterrey earlier this year at the expense of Ekaterina Alexandrova.
The fifth-seeded Alexandrova was victorious at Linz in February, besides making it to the finals in Seoul, where she fell to Iga Swiatek. The Russian trio find themselves in the same half of the draw and promise an intriguing contest.
Clara Tauson, the Danish fifth seed, is another noteworthy contender in Ningbo. She kick-started her 2025 season by winning the ASB Classic in Auckland and reached her maiden WTA 1000 final in Dubai. The Dane also made the last four in Montreal and was a quarter-finalist at the recently concluded Wuhan Open.
