Carlos Alcaraz speaks about facing Jannik Sinner in Six Kings Slam final- 'going to be a tough challenge for me'

Carlos Alcaraz defeated Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals of Six Kings Slam.

Carlos Alcaraz will be facing Jannik Sinner in a landmark final in Six Kings Slam. The champion will receive the biggest pay cheque of all time in tennis. The stakes are high as Alcaraz shared his views on facing his arch-rival once again this season. After four gruelling encounters in Riyadh, the final promises to be an intriguing battle between the top two ranked players in the ATP tour.

Alcaraz admitted that Sinner was the best player in the world right now and the match will definitely be a thriller. The Spaniard said,’ Playing him is a really big challenge, I expect a really difficult and good match. I think the people will enjoy it. I’ll try my best to beat him and win the tournament. Let’s see on Saturday. It’s not gonna be easy.’

Alcaraz overcame his idol, Rafael Nadal in straight sets to reach the final. Meanwhile, Sinner beat Novak Djokovic in the decider to reach the summit clash. The Italian will be receiving a day’s rest just like Alcaraz as the duo will be hoping to claim the winner’s cheque of $6m (about INR 51 crores).

The final will be held on October 19 after the third place playoffs between Nadal and Djokovic. The third place playoffs is expected to start around 10 PM (IST). The fans will then witness the final which will be held next as it is expected to begin only after 11:30 PM (IST). Fans will be watching a legendary rivalry ending in the semi-finals and a new one continuing in the final.

Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner eye prize money milestones in Six Kings Slam final

The Six Kings Slam final could see Alcaraz or Sinner reach a milestone in terms of prize money. The world No #1 has won $29,108,484 worth prize money so far in his career including the 12m this season. A win in Riyadh would ensure Sinner breaching the $35m mark.

On the other hand, Alcaraz has amassed $36,062,555 prize money and has earned over 9m this season so far. A victory in the championship match would mean the world No #2 breaching the 42m mark.

The Six Kings Slam has already proved to be an entertaining contest between the top players on the tour. With record breaking prize money on the line, Sinner and Alcaraz are already part of history.
