Stefanos Tsitsipas has only won the Monte Carlo Masters in 2024.
Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas has stated that four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz is his biggest rival on the ATP tour. Tsitsipas, 25, has reached the semifinals of the Swiss Open, where he will face Italyâs Matteo Berrettini.
During a recent interview, the two-time Grand Slam runner-up stated that Spainâs Carlos Alcaraz is his biggest rival on the tour.
Alcaraz and Tsitsipas have faced each other six times on tour, with the former winning on all six occasions. They faced each other for the first time at the 2021 US Open, where Alcaraz won in five sets. Next year, they locked horns at the 2022 Miami Open, where the Spaniard won 7-5, 6-3.
Since then, the two have only faced each other on the red dirt and Alcaraz has dropped only a single set against Tsitsipas. They have been meeting in the quarterfinals of the French Open for the last two years, where Alcaraz has recorded comfortable victories.
So far this year, the Greek tennis star has won the 2024 Monte Carlo Masters after defeating Casper Ruud in the final. He later lost the final of the Barcelona Open against Ruud just a week later. However, with a win-loss record of 30-12, the Greek tennis star has moved outside the top 10 ATP rankings.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz has won two Grand Slam titles in 2024 with a win-loss tally of 33-6. Last Sunday, he defeated Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final for a second consecutive year to become the sixth male tennis player in the open era to complete a Channel Slam.

Alcaraz also becomes the third youngest tennis player to defend Wimbledon title after Boris Becker and Bjorn Borg. Last month, he had already become the youngest male tennis player to complete a Surface Slam, surpassing the record of countryman and legend Rafael Nadal.
Heâs currently aiming to win a gold medal at Paris Olympics 2024. However, heâll have to overcome tough competition to win the prestigious accolade. Rafael Nadal won the menâs singles gold at the 2008 Beijing Games, while Andy Murray won the coveted prize in 2012 London and 2016 Rio de Janeiro. Germanyâs Alexander Zverev is the defending champion. However, one-time bronze medalist Novak Djokovic is keen to win gold in Paris.
