Top seed Carlos Alcaraz will look to defend his title at the traditional Wimbledon warm-up tournament.
The Queen’s Club Championships, an ATP 500 tournament that is almost as old as Wimbledon, sprung into life once more in June, with big names from across the ATP tour going well on the grass in London. Carlos Alcaraz has returned to defend his crown, following his maiden Roland-Garros triumph in the French capital.
The Spaniard has been in sensational form, having won his maiden Wimbledon title last year and then following it up with a French Open triumph earlier this month. The 21-year-old is now aiming to secure back-to-back Grand Slam titles for the first time in his short career.
The World No. 2 won the Queen’s Club Championships in 2023 courtesy of defeating Alex de Minaur 6-4, 6-4 on Centre Court. He then went on to claim the Wimbledon title, getting the better of 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 in the summit clash.
Andy Murray, the most successful player at the Queen’s Club with five wins, was forced to retire during the first set of his match due to a back injury. There is currently doubt about whether he will be fit to play at Wimbledon. Meanwhile, British No. 1 Jack Draper will hope to build on his maiden ATP title after winning the Stuttgart Open last time out.

The 22-year-old home favourite will take on Alcaraz in the Round of 16 encounter on Centre Court on Thursday. Meanwhile, in men’s doubles, the Indo-Australian pair of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden have advanced to the quarter-finals.
The top-seeded duo triumphed over the Austrian pair of Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, in the Round of 16. Bopanna and Ebden have previously reached the semi-finals at the French Open and were crowned champions at the opening Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open.
