WTA Tokyo Open 2024: Updated schedule, fixtures, results, live streaming details
This season marks the 39th edition of WTA Tokyo Open.
The WTA Tokyo Open 2024, the season’s final WTA 500 event will get underway in Tokyo, Japan from October 21. World No. #7 Zheng Qinwen leads the 28-player field at the Ariake Coliseum.
Defending champion Veronika Kudermetova is looking to be the first player since Martina Hingis to win successive titles. Last season, she pulled off some big upset victories along the way to claim the title, beating first time top seed Iga Swiatek and No. 2 seed Jessica Pegula.
Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia and Daria Kasatkina round out the top three seeds. The tournament’s top four seeds have received first round byes. Late withdrawals include Anna Kalinskaya (hip injury) and Paula Badosa (illness).
With 500 ranking points and $142,000 on the line for the winner, the competition is expected to be intense. The runner-up takes home 325 points and $87,655.

This is a tournament with a long history – 40 years of top-class championships. The tournament has a deep legacy with former champions like Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova and Maria Sharapova. More recently, Caroline Wozniacki and home favourite Naomi Osaka have claimed the title.
In addition to singles, 16 teams will compete in the doubles draw, including two wildcard pairings. The Toray Pan Pacific Open will mark one of the last important stopovers for the WTA Tour players in their final stretch before the start of the WTA Finals Riyadh, nearly two weeks from now.
When is the WTA Tokyo Open 2024 scheduled to take place?
The 2024 WTA Tokyo Open, also known as the Toray Pan Pacific Open, is scheduled from October 21 to October 27. The main draw play will kick off on October 21 after having its singles qualifying rounds between October 19 and 20. The finals for the singles and doubles are on October 27.
