United Cup 2025: All you need to know about prize money

The prize money for the United Cup 2025 will be based on individual and team performance.

The United Cup is an international hard court tennis competition featuring mixed-gender teams from 18 countries. The first event was held in December 2022 until January 2023. The event is played across multiple Australian cities over 11 days in the build-up to the Australian Open.

It is also the first mixed-gender team event to award both ATP ranking and WTA ranking points to its players, with a maximum of 500 points for the winners. A total of 18 countries qualify for the tournament. Five countries are based on the ATP ranking of their No. 1 ranked singles player, and Five are based on the WTA ranking of their No. 1 ranked singles player.

The remaining eight countries based on the combined ranking of their number one ranked ATP and WTA players. In exchange for being the host nation, Australia is guaranteed one of the spots reserved for teams with the best combined ranking if it fails to qualify on its own.

The United Cup 2025 will feature top players, including Taylor Fritz and Coco Gauff, Hubert Hurkacz and Iga Swiatek, and Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari. Italy will be represented by Jasmine Paolini and Flavio Cobolli while defending champions Alexander Zverev and Laura Siegemund reunite.

Alex de Minaur teams up with Olivia Gadecki, offering opportunities for rising stars. Other notable participants include Elena Rybakina, Karolina Muchova, Leylah Fernandez, and Katie Boulter, all aiming to lead their countries to glory.

However, Grand Slam winners like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have opted out of the competition citing heavy workload.

United Cup 2025: Prize Money Break Down

The competition offers players a valuable chance to acclimate to the conditions Down Under and gain some much-needed game time ahead of the Australian Open. However, with the increase in tournaments in different parts of the world, providing enticing prize money has become essential to attract top athletes.

The United Cup will feature a total prize pool of $15,000,000, which will be split evenly between the ATP and WTA players. The prize money will be based on individual and team performance, in addition to a participation fee being doled out Below is the prize distribution.
