Top five best moments from US Open 2024 ft. Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka & more

Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka won their first US Open titles.
The US Open 2024 concluded with Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka winning their respective singles titles. Interestingly, both players won the Australian Open, Cincinnati Masters as well as the US Open title. The tournament was full of upsets as Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Coco Gauff were eliminated in the initial rounds.
Surprise performers such as Jack Draper, Karolina Muchova, and more have also proved their worth at Flushing Meadows. Additionally, the tournament was no less memorable. Hence, on that note, let’s take a look at the top five best moments at US Open 2024:
5. Anna Kalinskaya supporting Jannik Sinner
Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya was eliminated in the third round of the US Open 2024 after she lost to Beatriz Haddad Maia in the third round. However, that didn’t stop her from supporting her boyfriend and eventual champion, Jannik Sinner. Kalinskaya was spotted rooting for the 23-year-old during his quarter-final match against Daniil Medvedev.
She also attended the last two matches of the Italian tennis star from his box. After winning the prestigious title at Flushing Meadows, the 23-year-old headed towards his box and kissed his girlfriend, who attended most of his matches.
4. Aryna Sabalenka meets Mini Sabalenka
While Aryna Sabalenka was facing Italy’s Lucia Bronzetti in the second-round match at Flushing Meadows, she met a little girl dressed just like her. The girl was wearing the same dress that Sabalenka sported on-court, and she also had a temporary tiger tattoo on her arm.
Sabalenka and the girl clicked pictures together, and the eventual champion also shared one of the pictures on social media after the match. She said after the match, “It was (a) really adorable moment. I just looked up, and I saw on the big screen, like, mini me! It was so cute… It’s such a motivation to keep going to inspire the young generation. That’s the main goal. Yeah, that was (a) very adorable moment.”
3. Jack Draper names Jannik Sinner’s weakness
After Jannik Sinner defeated Jack Draper in the semifinals, the Briton was asked about the 23-year-old’s weakness during the post-match press conference. In response to the question, the ATP World No. 20 stated that Sinner’s weakness is that he’s really nice. He said, “What’s one weakness? He doesn’t have many, Mate. One. Don’t know. Maybe he’s too nice (laughing).”
Sinner and Draper played doubles alongside each other at the 2024 Canadian Open, where they had to withdraw from the quarterfinals after the Italian tennis star was facing hip issues.
2. Taylor Swift, Hugh Jackman, Ben Stiller, Maria Sharapova and more in the celebrity box
Just like every year, the crowd at the Arthur Ashe Stadium was full of renowned faces. Former US Open champions such as Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Juan Martin del Potro, Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Roger Federer and more attended the matches.
In addition to that, Hugh Jackman, Ben Stiller, Kevin Hart, Orlando Bloom, Jason Bateman, Taye Diggs, Kal Penn, Elizabeth Banks, Molly Ringwald, Laverne Cox, Phoebe Dynevor, Ashley Park, and more were also present at the venue. In the final, Taylor Swift and her partner Trevis Kelce were stopped in the stands.
