Virat Kohli predicts Wimbledon 2025 winner after watching Novak Djokovic play

Virat Kohli made his first appearance at Wimbledon since 2015.
As Novak Djokovic registered yet another fourth-round victory at Wimbledon, a special personality watched the Serbian from the stands. Virat Kohli, one of the greatest cricketers of all time, was seen enjoying Djokovicâs show along with his wife and popular Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma.
He was not the only cricketer in the house, as former English captain Joe Root and fast bowler Jimmy Anderson were also present.
Kohli had previously praised Djokovic on social media as well, and the Serbian returned the favour when the Indian player scored his 50th century, surpassing the great Sachin Tendulkar for most centuries in the ODI format. Recently, at Wimbledon 2025, Virat heaped praise on the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
âYou know, in the comparison or conversation about being the greatest of all time, heâd be right up there with anyone else, if not number one with the maximum number of Grand Slam titles.
He deserves itâ, said Kohli. He is right. In terms of Grand Slam majors, no one in the history of the Open Era has come close to Djokovic, as the Serbian stands tall at 24, ahead of every other player, male or female.
The Indian great was then asked to name his favorite for the SW19 title, to which Kohli responded: âI would say I want Novak & Carlos to be in the Finals â probably Novak to win this one.â
Although Carlos Alcaraz looks certain to reach his third consecutive final, the Serbian has a tough road ahead as he will likely have to beat World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals.
Despite no physical interaction, there is mutual respect and admiration between these two legends of their respective fields. Fans worldwide are hoping to catch them in one frame soon.
Virat Kohli, currently 36 years old, has retired from T20I and Test cricket; as a result, he is not a part of Indiaâs ongoing test match series against England. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic continues his pursuit of a historic 25th Grand Slam title and is slated to face Flavio Cobolli in the quarter-finals on July 9.
