Washington Open 2025: All you need to know about prize money & points on offer

Washington Open does not offer equal pay for men and women.
The Washington Open 2025 is a crucial tournament for many top players, who hope to move on from a disappointing grass season and prepare for the upcoming hard-court swing. Ahead of the Masters and US Open, this 500-level event is scheduled to begin on July 21, with the finals set to be held on 27th.
World No. 4 Jessica Pegula headlines the WTA 500 field, returning to the site of her breakthrough 2019 title. However, she is the only top-10 player, as the field has been affected by the withdrawals of reigning champion Paula Badosa and World No. 6 Qinwen Zheng due to injuries.
Now Elena Rybakina has a chance to shine after their withdrawals. Former Grand Slam champions Naomi Osaka, Emma Raducanu, and Sofia Kenin are also set to feature.
Seven-time major winner Venus Williams also joins the main draw as a wildcard, marking her return to the tour after 16 months. Unlike the WTA division, five ATP top 10 players are confirmed to play in Washington, including local players Taylor Fritz (the top seed) and Ben Shelton.
Holger Rune and Lorenzo Musetti are other promising talents coming back after shocking first-week performances at Wimbledon. The focus will also be on former US Open champion Daniil Medvedev, who is currently struggling with poor form.
