This week has arguably been the best of Davidovich Fokina’s career, as he stands on the verge of winning his first-ever ATP Tour title. The Spaniard defeated American rising star Ben Shelton in the semi-final, 6-2, 7-5. What stunned fans even more was his earlier three-sets victory over world No. 4 Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals.

Speaking of Alex de Minaur, the Australian secured his spot in the final with 6-4, 6-3 win over Corentin Moutet. In the quarter-finals, he overcame Brandon Nakashima 6-4, 6-4. A win on Sunday would mark De Minaur’s 10th ATP Tour singles title.

However, the final promises to be a thrilling battle. Davidovich Fokina has been in sensational form, having dropped just one set all week. De Minaur, too, has lost only one set in the tournament and is no stranger to this stage—he reached the Washington final back in 2018, where he lost to Alexander Zverev as a teenager.
