The Guadalajara Open 2026 is the first major WTA event after the US Open 2026 conclusion, with defending champion Iva Jovic returning to Mexico to try and retain her title. The American teenager claimed the biggest title of her career last year and will now look to repeat that success against a field led by top seed Marta Kostyuk.
Kostyuk enters as the highest-ranked player in the draw after a strong season that included a WTA 1000 title in Madrid, while Sara Bejlek and Diane Parry round out the top four and receive first-round byes.
Bejlek will also be one to watch after an impressive campaign this season. The Czech enters as the third seed and has already claimed a WTA 500 title in Abu Dhabi, while her run to the latter stages in Cincinnati showed she can trouble the biggest names.
Parry, meanwhile, leads a strong French contingent that also includes Elsa Jacquemot, Carole Monnet and Lois Boisson. Beyond the top seeds, the field features several experienced names including Magdalena Frech, Sloane Stephens, Bianca Andreescu, Liudmila Samsonova and Zeynep Sonmez.
