Novak Djokovic is aiming to equal Roger Federer’s record of eight men’s singles titles at Wimbledon.
British motorsports racing driver George Russell recently visited the Centre Court at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, where he watched Wimbledon 2024 matches.
George Russell won the Austrian GP last month, leaving behind the likes of Carlos Sainz, teammate Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. However, he did not finish the race at the British GP last week. The Brit was spotted watching matches on Centre Court.
The Formula One star also had a meeting with 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic. He also took to social media and uploaded pictures with the seven-time Wimbledon champion. He captioned the post, “Wimbledon. I always love it here, and great to see some familiar faces too @DjokerNole.”
Djokovic has reached a record-equalling 13th Wimbledon semi-final, where he will face Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti, who defeated America’s Taylor Fritz to reach his first Grand Slam semi-final. Interestingly, the 26-year-old British motorsports racing driver also visited the All England Lawn Tennis Club last year.
Apart from George Russell, Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes also visited Wimbledon 2024 Championships, where he watched the five-set clash between Carlos Alcaraz and Frances Tiafoe in the third round.
He later also lauded both tennis stars for their performance in the five-set marathon. He wrote, “Great match!!! Much respect to @FTiafoe @carlosalcara.”
Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar also visited the All England Lawn Tennis Club, where he also clicked a picture with eight-time men’s singles champion Roger Federer.
Bollywood couple Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani also visited the All England Lawn Tennis Club to watch the Wimbledon Championships recently.
In the men’s singles semifinals, Carlos Alcaraz will face Daniil Medvedev, while Novak Djokovic will play against Lorenzo Musetti for the first time on grass. On the women’s front, Elena Rybakina will face Barbora Krejcikova, while Jasmine Paolini will lock horns against Croatia’s Donna Vekic.
