The WTA Finals 2024 will feature two American players in singles.

The WTA Finals 2024 will see the top eight players clash against each other from the women’s tour. With only a few hours to go, players will be hoping to end the season with the ultimate trophy. The 53rd edition of the event will witness two American players in the singles fray. The competition is set to be one of the most intense as the field includes grand slam and Olympic champions.

The season ending championship has seen eight different winners in the past eight editions. It has been a decade since the event has seen a player win successive titles. Serena Williams was the last player to successfully defend her title and win successive titles. She won her third consecutive title in 2014.

This time, Iga Swiatek could become the first player since Serena to defend her title. But there will be tough battles as Aryna Sabalenka has been in good form. Joining them will be Qinwen Zheng who could become the first Asian player to win the title. It could also be redemption time for Coco Gauff who has been struggling to be in her best form.

The players will be divided into two groups of purple and orange. Swiatek will be leading the orange group and will be joined by Gauff, Jessica Pegula and Barbora Krejcikova. The purple group will see Sabalenka taking charge alongside Zheng, Elena Rybakina and Jasmine Paolini. The opening match in singles will see Sabalenka take on Zheng.

Fans can expect thrilling encounters from the opening day as the odds are stacked evenly. Swiatek and Sabalenka will be the favourites.

In the doubles event there will be four pairs in the green and white group. Paolini is the only player who will be featuring in singles and doubles this season.
