UFC returns to the Meta Apex in Las Vegas this weekend for UFC Fight Night: Rosas Jr. vs Barcelos, a bantamweight main event that pits the youngest fighter to ever headline a UFC card against a 39-year-old who has been in the promotion for nearly a decade.

Raul Rosas Jr. signed with the UFC off Dana White’s Contender Series in 2022 at just 17 years old, and he now enters this fight riding a five-fight winning streak, most recently out-grappling veteran Rob Font at UFC 326 in March.

The 21-year-old has the highest control-time percentage in bantamweight history and absorbs fewer than 1.5 significant strikes per minute, a testament to a wrestling-first game plan that has yet to be truly tested at the five-round championship distance.

Standing across from him is Raoni Barcelos, 18 years his senior, who carries a five-fight streak of his own into the biggest opportunity of his career.

That run includes a unanimous decision win over the highly touted Payton Talbott, a fighter who occupied the exact hype-train role that Rosas Jr. does now. Barcelos used 14 years of experience to neutralise that hype once already, and he will look to do it again on Saturday.

The card also features both finals of The Ultimate Fighter Season 34, with Melissa Amaya and Valesca Machado da Silva meeting for the women’s strawweight crown, and Ilimbek Akylbek Uulu facing Mehemmedeli Osmanli for the men’s bantamweight title.
