Indian men win six medals at Junior World Wrestling Championship

The male freestyle wrestlers finished with one silver and five bronze medals at the event.
The Indian men's freestyle campaign comes to an end on day 2 of the Junior World Wrestling Championships as they finished with a total of six medals (one silver, five bronze). They had secured two bronze medals on the Tuesday and have added three more along with a silver medal on Wednesday at the global event.
The highlight of day one for the Indian wrestlers was Deepak winning the bronze medal in the 97kg category after defeating Hungary's Milan Andras Korcsog 3-2. Following him, Gourav Baliyan also secured the bronze medal in the men's 79kg category, beating Germany's Richard Schroeder by technical superiority.
The biggest bout from day two saw Ravinder facing Iran's Rahman Mousa in the gold medal match in the 61kg category. The young Indian grappler tried his best but failed to clinch the gold medal as he lost against Mousa 3-9.
In women's 76kg category, Bipasha has entered the final on Wednesday after beating Odbag Ulziibat of Mongolia 9-4 . The young wrestler will face USA's Kylie Renee Welker in the finals on Thursday.
Medals kept flowing for Indian wrestlers as Yash clinched the bronze medal in the men's 74kg category. The young grappler defeated Kyrgyz Republic's Stambul Zhanbyek 12-6.
However, India faced a setback in women's 50kg category as Simran lost her semifinal bout against USA's Emily King Shilson by 10-0 technical superiority. She will now play for the bronze medal on day 3.
Indian wrestler Pruthviraj Patil, who competes in the 92kg category, came out on top in an intense bout. He defeated Russia's Ivan Kirillov with a score of 2-1. It was a tight contest, but the youngster held his nerves and secured the bronze medal at the Junior Championships.
Another Indian starlet, Anirudh Kumar clinched India's third bronze medal on Wednesday in the 125kg category. He was exceptional in the repechage round as he came from behind to upset Azerbaijan's star wrestler Aydin Ahmadov in the bronze medal playoff by a dominating 7-2 score.
Among other Indians who were in action were Sito (55kg), Kusum (59kg) and Arju (68kg) - all of whom lost their respective quarterfinals. The trio will get a shot at the bronze medal via repechage on Thursday.
