WWE set to Introduce New Championship Titles?: Rumours
Triple-H recently unveiled a new World Heavyweight Championship
Triple-H unveiled WWE’s new World Heavyweight Championship this past week on Raw, and this made the worldwide WWE fans go crazy on the internet. Everyone started praising the idea of bringing the World Heavyweight Championship back, after ten years of retirement.
Wrestling observers and fans started comparing this new belt with the historical ‘Big Gold Belt’, as both look similar in appearance. When introducing this new title, Triple-H also stated that wherever Roman Reigns gets drafted to, he stays with the Undisputed Universal Championship in the same brand. However, the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be defended in another brand.
As soon as the SmackDown kicked off and Reigns got drafted to SmackDown as the first pick of the 2023 Draft, it was confirmed that the new World Heavyweight Championship will be on Raw. But the real confusion began on the same episode of SmackDown, as Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn successfully defended their Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles. If they have the championship belts of both the brands, Where will they be drafted to? How will they defend these championships? Will they be free agents? Will WWE introduce new tag titles for Raw and SmackDown?

As soon as this confusion started rising among fans. Xero News reported on its social media handle that both RAW & SmackDown will have a new set of tag team titles. In the report it was stated that, Raw Tag Titles will be renamed to World Tag Titles and SmackDown Tag Team Titles will be renamed to WWE Tag Titles.
These names were already used from 2002 to 2016 during the first phase of the draft and then was unified into WWE Tag Titles and then was changed to Raw and SmackDown Tag Titles as a result of the second phase of WWE Draft. Xero News also reported that the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship will also be given a new name and all these championship name changes will be reflected after the Backlash premium live event.
However, there is no official announcement from the WWE on renaming the existing title, this rumour went viral among fans and people started tweeting with excitement that this move will bring back the 2000’s wrestling vibe and will be like reliving the memories of the past.
