Top 11 shortest WWE Title reigns in history

WWE has witnessed some of the longest WWE Championship reigns over the years. But there are a marginally equal number of shortest WWE Title reigns in the history of WWE. Here are the top 11 shortest WWE Championship Title reigns in history.
11. Rey Mysterio [1 hour 46 minutes]
After CM Punk left the company with the WWE Championship belt with him in 2011, a tournament was announced on the 25th Anniversary of Raw to crown a New WWE Champion. Rey Mysterio won the tournament and became the WWE Champion for the first time.
However, John Cena claimed himself as the WWE Champion as he lost his title to CM Punk in a controversial way. He then got a championship match against Rey Mysterio the same day and won the WWE championship. Rey Mysterio’s championship reign lasted for only 1 hour and 46 minutes.
10. Randy Orton [25 minutes]
At No Mercy 2007, John Cena is said to defend the WWE Championship against Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing Match. But, Cena got injured and Randy Orton was crowned the WWE Champion without even competing. However, Triple-H challenged Randy Orton the same day and won the WWE Championship from him. Randy Orton’s championship reign lasted only for 25 minutes.
9. Drew McIntyre [5 minutes 45 seconds]
Drew won the World Heavyweight title from Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 night 2. But his title reign was short lived as Damien Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract just minutes later to take the title away from the Scottish Warrior.
8. Daniel Bryan [5 minutes 25 seconds]
In SummerSlam 2013, Daniel Bryan defeated John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship with Triple-H as a special guest referee. As soon as Daniel Bryan won the championship, Randy Orton came to the ring with his Money in the Bank briefcase. Triple-H hit Daniel Bryan with a pedigree and allowed Randy Orton to cash-in his Money in the Bank contract. Daniel Bryan lost the title in 5 minutes 25 seconds.
7. Roman Reigns [5 minutes 15 seconds]
Roman Reigns defeated Dean Ambrose and became the WWE Champion in SummerSlam 2015. Soon after winning the title, Triple-H came to the ring to wish Roman Reigns for his victory. But, Roman hit Triple-H with a spear and Sheamus attacked Roman Reigns with a Brogue kick and cashed-in his Money in the Bank contract and won the WWE Championship. Roman Reigns lost the title in 5 minutes and 15 seconds.
6. Jeff Hardy [5 minutes]
In 2009, at Extreme Rules pay-per-view, Jeff Hardy Challenged Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship in a ladder match. After an epic fight with Edge, Jeff Hardy won the WWE Championship for the first time. After the match, CM Punk ran to the ring with a referee and cashed-in his Money in the Bank contract and took the championship away from Jeff Hardy. Jeff Hardy’s first World Championship Title reign came to an end in 5 minutes.
5. John Cena [3 minutes 15 seconds]
At Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in 2010, John Cena participated in the Elimination Chamber Match and won the WWE Championship after a hard fight against 5 other superstars of Raw. After the win, Cena was hardly able to stand on his feet. WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon congratulated Cena for his victory and declared a match against Batista right away. Batista hit Cena with a spear and a powerbomb and ended Cena’s title reign in 3 minutes 15 seconds.

4. Yokozuna [2 minutes 20 seconds]
At WrestleMania 9, Yokozuna won the WWE Title by defeating Bret Hart with the help of Mr.Fuji. Soon after the victory, Hulk Hogan interfered with his celebration and challenged him for a title match. Hulk Hogan defeated Yokozuna with a Leg Drop and won the WWE Title from him in 2 minutes 20 seconds.
3. Seth Rollins [2 minutes]
After returning from the knee injury, Seth Rollins gained an opportunity for the WWE Championship title against Roman Reigns at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view and won the title from Roman Reigns. Soon after the victory, Dean Ambrose attacked Seth Rollins from behind with the Money in the Bank Briefcase and cashed-in his Money in the Bank contract, which he won the same day. He then hit Seth Rollins with ‘Dirty Deeds’ and took the WWE Championship from Seth in 2 minutes.
2. Andre the Giant [1 minute 45 seconds]
In February 1988, Andre the Giant fought against Hulk Hogan and won the title in a controversial way. Hogan’s shoulder was off the mat for the third-count and the referee didn’t see it. However, Andre the Giant relinquished the title to The Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase in 1 minute 45 seconds.
1. The Big Show [45 seconds]
At the TLC pay-per-view in 2011, Big Show fought against Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Championship in a Chairs Match. Big Show hit the World Strongest Man with a ‘Knockout punch’ and won the World Heavyweight Championship. After the match, Mark Henry attacked Big Show with a chair and hit a DDT on the chairs. Daniel Bryan ran out to the ring with a referee, cashed in his Money In The Bank Contract and pinned Big Show in less than 45 seconds.
