WWE has signed a multi year deal with the Sony Pictures Network of India in October 2020 to host live events in India. The first event in 2021 was unable to occur in India as a result of COVID19 pandemic restrictions, but WWE has pre-taped it at the WWE Thunderdome bubble exclusively for Indian audience and telecasted on the Republic Day of India.

However on August 1st, WWE announced its return to India for the Superstar Spectacle show this September 8th. The show marks the first live event in India since 2017 and the WWE debut at Hyderabad. With tickets being sold online the expectations for the show has raised among Indian fans as they got excited to see their favorite WWE Superstars.

With multiple wrestlers being said to feature in the event, a big question started arising among the fans: Will Roman Reigns be in India for the Superstar Spectacle?

Unfortunately for the Indian WWE fans, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is likely to miss the Superstar Spectacle this year, as he hasn’t been advertised for the event. But five other champions are said to be featured for the event including the World Heavyweight Champion- Seth Rollins, Intercontinental Champion- Gunther, World Women’s Champion- Rhea Ripley, Undisputed Tag Team Champions- Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

As per the official press release of WWE, apart from the champions Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, Ludwig Kaiser, Natalya, Matt Riddle and Indian wrestlers- Jinder Mahal, Veer Mahan, Sanga, and Shanky are expected to take part in the 2023 Superstar Spectacle.

When was the last time Roman had a match in India?

Last time Roman Reigns had a match in India was in 2017, where The Shield (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose) took on The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro) and Samoa Joe in a Six Man Tag Team Match.
