JD McDonagh officially joins The Judgment Day ahead of WWE Survivor Series WarGames Match
JD McDonagh recently joined The Judgment Day after months of pursuits ahead of WWE Survivor Series WarGames match. As he finally got into the crew, here we recall McDonagh’s long pursuit with Judgment Day.
JD McDonagh had one of the underrated reigns in NXT and NXT UK from 2017 to 2023. He got drafted to Raw as a part of the 2023 WWE Draft. On his debut, McDonagh assaulted the former world champion Dolph Ziggler in a brutal way and made a terrifying first impression. Finn Balor, the real life mentor/trainer of McDonagh, observed him from day one.
At the same time, Balor had failed pursuits for the World Heavyweight Championship and issues with Damian Priest and his Money in the Bank Briefcase. Due to tensions with Priest, Balor started hanging out with JD McDonagh backstage.
Anything for Finn Balor
McDonagh slowly started getting involved in Judgment Day’s business by hanging with Balor. McDonagh was the one who said that the Money in the Bank Briefcase was cursed and advised Priest to get rid of it to solve the problem on Judgment Day. McDonagh kept appearing with Finn Balor’s match which the Judgment Day members disliked, except Finn Balor. They asked McDonagh to stay away from Judgment Day business. However McDonagh assisted Judgment Day in one way or another.
Almost in
McDonagh played a major role in Damien Priest and Finn Balor winning the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship, as he took Kevin Owens out from retaining the championship in the Steel City Street Fight match at Payback.
McDonagh gained a little respect from Rhea and Dom, however Priest was not happy with him. The following night when Judgment Day celebrated their championship win, McDonagh presented a brand new Money in the Bank Briefcase customized for Priest stating “Senor MITB” in it. This made a huge difference in opinion of Judgment Day members. He hung out with Judgment Day backstage and was in talks of inducting McDonagh into the Judgment Day.
Issue with Damian Priest
McDonagh kept assisting Judgment Day members and took sacrificial shots on himself to save Judgment Day members. As he got closer and closer to get inducted into Judgment Day, the good fortune again went in vain. As Priest and Balor defended their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso at Fastlane, McDonagh accidentally attacked Priest’s knee with the briefcase, which eventually cost them the match and championship. Priest had a great chance to at least cash-in the contract, but couldn’t able to as be injured his leg legitimately. Priest busted out in anger and almost choked McDonagh backstage.
McDonagh gets closer & closer
McDonagh again began to gain trust from the scrap, by making Dominik Mysterio regain the NXT North American Championship, help Priest and Balor win the Tag Team golds again, assisted Priest to break the leg of Cody and faced one of Judgment Day’s opponent Sami Zayn at Crown Jewel.
At Raw after Crown Jewel, Judgment Day had a backstage segment, where McDonagh wore Damian Priest’s T-shirt, which Priest left in the locker room. The same night McDonagh came with Judgment Day members and kick started a brawl, where he was announced as a member of the WarGames Match aligning with Judgment Day.
JD in JD (Judgment Day) Finally!
On the latest episode of Raw, McDonagh with Judgment Day confronted Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso. McDonagh and Dom fought against Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins, which again kick-started another brawl, where JD McDonagh’s contribution impressed Judgment Day members.
Judgment Day members had a discussion backstage where they finally agreed to induct McDonagh to the Judgment Day. Damian Priest, who opposed McDonagh’s involvement, finally gave him the Judgment Day jacket and welcomed him into Judgment Day.
How could JD McDonagh in Judgment Day could help the team. It seems like not only McDonagh, but also McIntyre could be joining The Judgment Day, as he assisted Balor and Priest retain the tag team golds and had a handshake with Rhea.
