Major change in match card for WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023
WWE is all set to have an action packed Survivor Series WarGames Premium Live Event tomorrow in Allstate Arena in Rosemont (Chicago suburb), Illinois. A total of five matches was announced for the show, including two WarGames Match, two Championship Match and one single’s match. However a change in match was made one day prior to the big five event on SmackDown, which was held in the same Allstate Arena earlier today.
Santos Escobar’s assault on LWO members
Following the brutal assault of Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar came to give an explanation on his act last week, where he expressed his hatred of Rey Mysterio and Carlito’s involvement in LWO. He extended his hatred on fellow LWO members Zelina Vega, Joaquin Wilde and Cruze Del Toro. He tried to assault Wilde and Del Toro, but Carlito made the save. Later the same night, Carlito vs Santos Escobar was booked for Survivor Series WarGames as the fifth match of the PLE.
Santos Escobar’s opponent for Survivor Series Changed
On the most recent episode of SmackDown, a day before Survivor Series WarGames, Carlito came to address LWO’s current situation and his match at Survivor Series. Where Santos Escobar interfered and put the blame on Carlito for Rey’s injury and LWO’s decline, which turned into a brawl. During the brawl, Escobar sneak attacked Carlito, with the knee to the back of his arm and tried to break his arm backstage. Dragon Lee appeared and made the save, sending Escobar through Hurricanrana.
Following the assault of Escobar, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced that Carlito is injured and there is no way the match could be held at Survivor Series. Dragon Lee interrupted him and requested him to have the spot of Carlito, which Aldis accepted and Dragon Lee vs Santos Escobar was made official for Survivor Series.
