Top five longest survivors in WWE Royal Rumble match

The Royal Rumble match is one of the most exciting matches in the pro-wrestling industry. The match has a separate fan base and carries great anticipation. There is no friendship or alliance inside the rumble match, where everyone stands for themselves.

Rumble matches are purely based on eliminating opponents and surviving until the last minute. Here we look at the top five WWE Superstars who have spent the most time inside a single Royal Rumble match.

5. Triple H: 1 hour 16 seconds

Triple H stands fifth on our list for his longest time in the ring at the 2006 Royal Rumble match. The Game entered the 2006 Royal Rumble at #1 and survived a total of 1 hour 16 seconds in the ring. Triple H  eliminated a total of  6 including Simon Dean, Ric Flair, Big Show, Kane, Chavo Guerrero and RVD before being eliminated by the eventual winner and the iron survivor of the 2006 Rumble match Rey Mysterio.

4. Bob Buckland: 1 hour 1 minute 10 seconds

Bob Buckland stands fourth on the list for the longest time spent in the ring for his 1993 Royal Rumble match. Buckland entered the 1993 Rumble match at #2 and stood a total of 1 hour 1 minute 10 seconds. He eliminated a total of two including Fatu (Rikishi) and Rick Martel, before being eliminated by the eventual winner Yokozuna.

3. Chris Benoit:1 hour 1 minute 35 seconds

Chris Benoit stands third with his most underrated survival in the 2004 Royal Rumble match. Benoit entered the 2004 rumble match as the first entrant and survived 1 hour 1 minute 35 seconds. Benoit eliminated six members including  Bradshaw, Mark Henry, Rhyno, Matt Morgan, A-Train and Big Show to win the match.

2. Rey Mysterio: 1 hour 2 minutes and 12 seconds

Rey Mysterio stands second for his greatest survival in the 2003 Royal Rumble match. Rey entered at #2 in the rumble match and lasted in the ring for 1 hour 2 minutes and 12 seconds. Rey went on to eliminate six other wrestlers including Simon Dean, Psicosis, Super Crazy, Triple H, Chris Benoit and Randy Orton to win the match. Rey made the record for the longest in-ring time in a Royal Rumble match until 2023.

1. Gunther: 1 hour 11 minutes 40 seconds

Gunther currently holds the record for the longest time inside the Royal Rumble match for his extreme survival in the 2023 Rumble match. Gunther entered the 2023 rumble match at #1 and lasted for 1 hour 11 minutes 40 seconds. Gunther eliminated a total of 5 including Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Drew McIntyre and Booker T before being eliminated by the eventual winner Cody Rhodes.
