Top 10 WWE Superstars to win men's Royal Rumble
The Royal Rumble, a beloved annual event in WWE, is a spectacle of chaos and excitement, featuring a 30-man battle royal that culminates in one wrestler earning a coveted championship opportunity at WrestleMania.
As anticipation builds for the Men’s Royal Rumble, wrestling enthusiasts eagerly speculate on the potential winners who could make a significant impact on the road to WrestleMania.
Let’s delve into the top 10 WWE superstars to win men’s Royal Rumble:
10. Brock Lesnar (2003, 2022)
Before 2022, The Beast Incarnate had won the Royal Rumble in 2003. It was his first Rumble participation, and he made a big statement by winning in his first attempt. Brock Lesnar, who entered the challenge at number 29, threw four superstars off the top rope. He won the match after eliminating The Undertaker last.
After 2003, Lesnar did not compete in another Royal Rumble for over 13 years. Finally, in 2016, he returned to the main contest, hoping to win the WWE Championship. Unfortunately, he was eliminated by the Wyatt family.
9. Batista (2005, 2014)
When Batista won the Royal Rumble in 2005, it sparked a massive surge of excitement in WWE. However, just before he could officially win the tournament, he was involved in a catastrophic blunder that is still spoken about. Batista and John Cena were the final two participants in the ring during the 2005 Royal Rumble battle.
Then in 2014, Batista shocked the world by winning his second Royal Rumble by eliminating Roman Reigns. Poor Reigns was on a roll, having eliminated 12 competitors, the most of any Royal Rumble contender, but but couldn’t eliminate the Animal.
8. Triple H (2002, 2016)
He has a solid track record at the Royal Rumble. The Game has won the Royal Rumble twice, in 2002 and 2016, and was a runner-up in both 2008 and 2009. While the Game has provided spectacular moments for fans to savor at the Royal Rumble, there have been a handful of stinkers that fell short of Triple H’s lofty expectations.

7. Shinsuke Nakamura (2018)
Shinsuke Nakamura’s WWE Royal Rumble 2018 victory over 29 other superstars earned him a WWE Championship battle at WrestleMania 34, making it the pinnacle of his career. Shinsuke Nakamura won the 2018 WWE Men’s Royal Rumble on Sunday, securing a world championship chance at WrestleMania 34. Nakamura won on his Royal Rumble debut after eliminating Roman Reigns last. Nakamura faced AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania but was unable to defeat the Phenomenal One.
6. Edge (2010, 2021)
Edge has won two Royal Rumble bouts, in 2010 and 2021, by placing 29th and first, respectively. The twenty-third annual Royal Rumble professional wrestling pay-per-view event took place in 2010. Edge won the fight by knocking out John Cena, one of two eliminations in the bout, the other being Chris Jericho.
Edge’s already amazing rise continued with his victory in the 2021 Royal Rumble event. Edge started the Rumble and ended it as well. Edge was the final man standing after defeating ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton, who spent the most of the match backstage selling a knee injury until emerging at the end.
5. Randy Orton (2009, 2017)
Randy has extensive expertise in over-the-top-rope battles. He debuted in the multi-man fight at WWE Royal Rumble 2004 in second place and lasted 33 minutes until being eliminated at number 17. In 2005, he headlined the event as the WWE Champion, against Triple H.
His first victory occurred in 2009 when he donned the Legend Killer identity and became a terror to the roster alongside his Legacy teammates. He defeated Triple H at the climax. Orton’s next WWE Royal Rumble triumph came in 2017 when he defeated Roman Reigns in the finals and earned a spot in the WrestleMania main event.

4. Drew McIntyre (2020)
Drew McIntyre’s popularity and passionate wrestling style make him a standout contender for Royal Rumble glory. Despite his hard work, he hasn’t held a major championship since early 2021. But, Drew McIntyre won the 2020 men’s Royal Rumble at Minute Maid Park in Houston. The Scot last defeated Roman Reigns by incapacitating him with the Claymore Kick and sending him over the top rope to the floor.
3. Roman Reigns (2015)
Roman Reigns, the current WWE Universal Champion, has dominated the main event scene more than any other WWE Superstar in the last decade. Management dubbed Reigns the next megastar in 2015, much to the anger of the WWE Universe.
After a rollercoaster of a Royal Rumble bout, Reigns was eventually the final man standing at the 2015 event. In an eerily prescient foreshadowing of the future, The Rock made his presence known during the bout and raised his real-life cousin’s hand at the finish – yet The Rock was stunned by the WWE Universe’s emotional reaction to Reigns’ triumph.
2. Seth Rollins (2019)
WWE Royal Rumble 2019 finished as many fans expected: Seth Rollins won the 30-man Royal Rumble and earned a guaranteed world championship opportunity at WrestleMania 35. Rollins defeated Brawn Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, and Andrade in the dying minutes of the 58-minute Royal Rumble battle to claim the historic victory.
1. Cody Rhodes (2023)
Cody Rhodes made it obvious upon his successful return to WWE in 2022 that his ultimate ambition was to capture the WWE Championship, a title that his father never had the opportunity to achieve. While his series of matches with Seth Rollins solidified his status as a top-tier talent, his performance at the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble cemented his place as a main eventer.
As the 30th entry in the Royal Rumble battle, Rhodes went on a rampage, knocking out four men and avoiding elimination before the final sequence. Gunther, the Intercontinental Champion who entered the match at the top of his game, stood in the path of triumph. The final two guys fought back and forth until the American Nightmare delivered a decisive Cross Rhodes to the Ring General. Rhodes then knocked Gunther over the top rope to clinch his spot in WrestleMania 39’s main event match.
