Drew McIntyre signs new long term contract with WWE: Backstage news

Drew will face Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40.

Drew McIntyre is one of the highly talented professional wrestlers in the current WWE roster. The Scottish Warrior played a major role in the upliftment of WWE during the COVID19 Pandemic era. He carried the company solely on his shoulders, when no major stars appeared for the show due to travel restrictions. He had two WWE Championship reigns during the time and made the worst year into one of the greatest years for him.

Although was the hero during the pandemic, he never got a chance to hold the championship in the company thereafter. He attempted to capture on certain occasions, but wasn’t successful. Drew showed his creative frustration last year after his loss to Gunther at WrestleMania, by taking a long break from the company with blacked out social media handles.

It was previously reported that McIntyre will be leaving the company after his current contract expires. He also teased by not signing a deal for a long time. However a backstage report gave a positive update on McIntyre’s WWE contract status.

Drew McIntyre re-signed a new deal

BWE on X reported that Drew McIntyre has re-signed a new deal with WWE, ahead of his contract expiration later this year. However there isn’t any update about the details about the deal.

McIntyre on a previous interview last year, while asked about his contract said,

“I focus on the now. I don’t focus on the past, I don’t focus on the future. I focus on the present. No, I don’t plan to be anywhere else. That’s as much as I can say right now.”

Drew McIntyre is currently having a great run with a change in his character and got back on track as a heel. Drew has been proving himself as one of the undeniable stars on the roster, by pulling out some big wins and his heading to WrestleMania 40 challenging Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. It could be a great time if McIntyre continues with the company conquering his goal.
