Several of these pairings quickly became fan favorites.
Despite WWE’s primary focus on the singles division and individual stars, many fan-favorite tag teams have earned their place in the history books over the years, and 2025 was no exception, with several pairings rapidly winning over fans.
In a year that marked the Netflix era of Monday Night Raw and the ESPN era of Premium Live Events, the promotion delivered a blend of breakout performers and established stars who further cemented their status as the company’s leading figures in the tag team division.
As WWE closes out 2025, here are the top 10 WWE tag teams of the year – duos that defined the division and left a lasting impact.
Honourable mention: Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater
The pairing of NXT standout Je’Von Evans and TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater has sent waves through the tag team division. The two high-flying young stars have delivered standout performances not only in NXT and TNA, but also in AAA and on the WWE main roster.
Their most recent tag team clash with World Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Dragon Lee served as further proof of just how much faith WWE brass have in the duo, positioning them as cornerstone talents for the future of the division.

10. ZaRuca (Sol Ruca & Zaria)
Former Women’s Speed Champion and NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca’s friendship with Zaria has been one of the highlights of NXT programming in 2025. Their on-screen segments—and the recent rift they appeared to work through- became some of the most talked-about moments of the year, resonating strongly with fans.
Although Ruca did outshine Zaria when it comes to sheer accomplishments inside the ring, the pairing still enjoyed on-screen time, delivering many incredible performances on NXT, TNA and the main roster.
9. The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) captured the WWE Tag Team titles in March after defeating #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa). Despite their eventual loss to the Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis), the tag team, as usual, competed in several A Grade matches.
WWE has once again forgotten about the tag team on SmackDown, but when given the chance, Ford and Dawkins will remind everyone of their in-ring high-flying abilities.
8. DarkState (Saquon Shugars, Cutler James, Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin)

With a Shield-esque debut that immediately caught the attention of the NXT audience, DarkState, comprised of Saquon Shugars, Cutler James, Dion Lennox, and Osiris Griffin, quickly established themselves as a dominant force in the NXT tag team division.
With wins over former Tag Team Champions and then defeating The Hardys (Jeff & Matt Hardy), the faction has captured the title for the third time this year, since their debut in March.
7. Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid)

Fatal Influence, led by current NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, currently consists of Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. Lainey joined the faction in late 2025 after Jazmyn Nyx’s exit. The faction and its members have been the focal point of multiple storylines and have competed in multiple TNA and NXT PLEs.
The promotion currently has only one set of Women’s Tag Team Championships, which are typically held by main roster talent. Creating a separate set of NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles, similar to the men’s division, would further elevate the brand, provide consistent opportunities for developing teams, and strengthen the depth of NXT’s women’s division.
6. Rhiyo (Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky)

Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky are already among the top names in the women’s division and two of WWE’s biggest fan favorites. However, their pairing has only amplified their star power, seemingly quadrupling their stock as fans have fully embraced the duo’s chemistry.
The storyline with the Kabuki Warriors has delivered some amazing segments and is poised to likely deliver a great tag team match next month when Ripley and Sky take on the Kabuki Warriors for the Women’s Tag Team titles.

5. The Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Nikki Cross, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy)

The Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Nikki Cross, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, and Joe Gacy) have made only sporadic appearances, yet they have still produced several memorable moments, largely due to their distinctive personas and the delivery of their eerie promos. Their ongoing feud with Solo Sikoa’s MFT has significant potential if executed properly.
Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis have held the WWE Tag Team Championships for 168 days, defending the titles five times, with their Six-Pack Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match at SummerSlam standing out as the most memorable defense of their reign.
4. Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodríguez (Judgment Day)

Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were on top of the Women’s Tag Team division after Liv’s World title reign came to an end, and WWE started to book them as a tag team. Despite losing the Tag titles at WrestleMania against Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch, the Judgment Day members recaptured the title on Raw after WrestleMania.
Although Liv’s injury and hiatus halted the momentum, and the subsequent return at Survivor Series didn’t help, as Raquel has her own World title momentum, causing a visible rift between the two.
3. AJ/Lee (AJ Styles & Dragon Lee)

Current World Tag Team Champions Dragon Lee and AJ Styles emerged as one of the most unique tag teams of 2025. Despite all signs pointing to their partnership being short-lived, especially with Styles openly discussing retirement next year, the duo revitalized the Raw tag team division, a momentum that the reunited Usos are now poised to carry forward.
Notably, The Usos (Jey & Jimmy Uso) are currently the biggest threat to their title reign as the two teams will collide on the upcoming December 29 show of Raw.
2. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane)

The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) reunited on WWE television following Asuka’s return in June. The highly accomplished tag team quickly reminded everyone of their accolades. Asuka’s heel turn and Kairi’s work in those fan-favorite segments have been widely lauded.
The two captured the Women’s Tag Team titles in the lead-up to the women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series and are now set to defend them against Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky, a tag team they have been feuding with since Asuka’s heel turn.

1. Charlexa (Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss)

Pairing Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair proved to be one of WWE’s best creative decisions in 2025. The duo returned after long layoffs during the Women’s Royal Rumble, with Bliss appearing in a handful of matches while Flair won the Rumble and went on to challenge for the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.
However, many fans felt Flair was undeserving of the title opportunity, which immediately generated significant heat. The pivot towards pairing the two instantly helped Flair, who fans started cheering for, and the starpower of the two women also helped the Women’s division, as did their Women’s Tag Team titles reign.
There are speculations of fans of their split and Flair turning heel since their title loss. This would obviously create a shock effect, as did John Cena’s heel turn, but it would be a disastrous call for both women in the long run, as Cena’s heel turn turned out to be.
